We made it! Seven days of St. Patrick’s Day manicures finished, and blogged about! Through this challenge I’ve shown you a couple of great green polishes (I’m Not Saying It’s Aliens, Saint Patrick Stewart, Elf) as well as a few different nail art looks (decals, golden clovers, gradient shamrocks). Today I finish with one of my favourite St. Patrick’s Day themes, rainbows and pots of gold!
Celtic Knot Rainbow Nail Art – Full Manicure
This manicure represents my first time trying to do a gradient stamp, as well as another great Boston Nail Art waterslide decal. I thought the fun throughline of a Celtic love knot design could help take this from a normal rainbow, to something a little unique.
I opted to use Mundo de Unas stamping polishes for this stamping adventure since I know the workable time on them is pretty high, and it would allow me to try to blend the gradient as much as possible on the stamping plate. Luckily I had the appropriate colours in my stash. Full details on all of the colours used are in the product summary below the post.
Celtic Knot Rainbow Nail Art – Macros
I did the love knots as decals because i was so worried about the gradient not working, but if i were to do this again, I’d stamp right on to my nail. I got a little bit of bubbling from the decal application and I think it could have been easily avoided by stamping right on to the nails.
I wanted to end each hand with a cute pot of gold, and since my freehand nail art is pretty brutal, I used one of the pot of gold decals from my previously reviewed Luck O’ The Irish set from Boston Nail Art. To up the glitter factor, I also applied a little Honey Bear (H) from F.U.N. Lacquer. I like the way the hex glitters look like little coins, so I had a few spilling over the edge as well.
