Have you tried H&M’s nailpolish line yet? At $6.99 CAD for 8ml, they’re not inexpensive, but many of the colours are unique and beautiful. I decided to try my luck by purchasing three on my most recent trip to H&M. I picked up the ever popular Spacerace (silver holographic), Science Fiction (a shimmery dark blue to teal duochrome), and Precious (a golden orange duochrome).
The bottles are cute, with a low profile but fairly wide base. They’re sturdy and don’t tip easily, and the brushes are incredibly wide.
The duochrome in Precious is far more apparent in the bottle than it is on the nail, but I’m still loving the overall look of this one. I used two thin coats and a coat of topcoat to get this shimmery goodness. the formula was on the thin side but very workable, and the brush was huge (which I like). If you find the SH Salon manicure brushes nice, you’ll like the H&M brushes too.
In some lights the gold leans a little more orange, and in some it gets almost a green tinge to it. It’s very blingy regardless of the lighting, and seems to shine even in the shadows. Given how pretty this colour is, I’m tempted to try it with a matte topcoat. I think dulling the shine down a little will let some of the shimmer show up more easily.
I’m going to be showing a nail art look using this polish shortly since I think it makes an incredible base for stamping.
