Today I’m featuring a polish from a new to me polish maker, Virago Varnish. Founded in 2014, this is an artisan US brand. Virago Varnish is 5-free and does not test on animals. In visiting the Virago Varnish site, you’ll see a ton of gorgeous polishes in several finishes (holo, creme) but the micro-glitters really stand out to me. I purchased the glitz set, which includes 4 polishes: Allure, Glamorous, Stellar, and Radiance. Bottles are 13.2 ml each, and retail individually for $11.25 USD.

I was immediately drawn to the blingy goodness of Allure, a silver holographic micro-glitter. In swatching this, I found the formula to be very thick but not unworkable. For future applications, I will likely thin this slightly. The benefit to the thick formula is the opacity at only 2 coats. There is no VNL or patchiness on this polish due to just how packed with glitter this is. Despite that, the finish isn’t super textured, and a single coat of topcoat sufficed to get this to a glossy sheen.

The day I swatched this I fell so far in love that I turned it into a full manicure, and then applied accent nails. My husband and I had symphony tickets to see Broadway Today from the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and so I opted for a New York theme.

To get this look, I stamped with MdU black onto a base of dried Wet n’ Wild clear polish using Bundle Monster Plate 414. I filled the buildings in with a sheer neon yellow polish from Dollarama (Mariposa brand). A quick swipe of rubberized base coat to attach, and a coat of Out The Door topcoat, and we were off to the symphony!
