Small Batch Prototypes are all the rage in indie polish world. They offer the opportunity for makers to share polishes they haven’t decided to fully release yet, and they give collectors the chance to own limited run polishes from some of their favourite makers. When Pam from Girly Bits offers up mystery boxes for sale in her shop, I always jump at the chance to pick up SBPs, overpours from box exclusives, and other retired or limited run polishes. In one of my last boxes, I received SBP 1174 and am swatching it for you today.
Girly Bits SBP 1174 – Video Swatch
As you’ll see in the video embedded above, the polish applies neatly and evenly, and despite being very sheer for coat one, is fully opaque with two coats. SBP 1174 dries to a semi matte and slightly textured finish. I decided to wear it matte because I think the finish is gorgeous, but if you prefer a glossy look, or the slightly rough texture bothers you, it smooths out with a single coat of top coat.
Girly Bits SBP 1174 – Macro
You can see just how complex this microglitter filled jelly is in the macro photo. It has a slight holo glow in direct sunlight, but the glitter is really the star of the show. I didn’t find this too difficult to remove. It was less troublesome than a pure glitter, but required more effort than a creme or holo would normally take. I wore this for several days and had no staining.
