Hi Everyone! My name is Rebecca from Rebecca’s Beauty Boudoir and today I’ll be guest posting for Kate’s lovely blog and chatting about something a little bit different- but of course beauty related!

Strobing and highlighting is a trend we see all year round but what product is best for you? Having a glow that doesn’t look greasy is possible with the right products. In this post I will walk you through the types of products and some of my favourite suggestions!

Cream Highlighters

Creams can often be found in small containers or pans. This constancy is beautiful for all skin types, especially those with a dry skin type. If you have a normal to oily skin type try pairing a cream with an iridescent highlighting powder to set it or create a very dramatic look. On its own it can be buildable and cater to how soft or flashy you want your highlight to be.

benefit watts up

The Benefit Watt’s Up has the creamy consistency and smudgy tool at the end to help you be as versatile as you want to be!

Liquid Highlighters

This consistency is similar to the cream, however it is more fluid. This is ideal for anyone who is seeking a very natural look. Although you can layer your liquids like your creams, it is easier to tap the highlight onto your skin for a flawless look. Pair this with a re-useable sponge for a quick and sheer everyday look.

l'oreal lumi

The L’Oréal Lumi Liquid Glow is perfect to add to the small areas of your face with its wallet friendly price!

Powder Highlighters

There are so many types of highlighting powders. Some are softer than others, some have glitter in them and then there are also some that are finely milled. I personally enjoy the ones that are finely milled because they glide onto my skin like butter while giving you an impactful sheen on your cheeks!

Becca Opal

My go-to highlight is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. This is a gorgeous shade for many skin types and I enjoy how easily it glides onto the skin. The formula is a one of a kind that works well on all skin types and in my books, it’s totally worth the splurge!
